Suzanne Davey is a visual artist based in Sydney, Australia. She works in a variety of art disciplines but principally in installation. Suzanne uses mixed media and diverse techniques to produce work that ranges from small meticulously crafted ceramic assemblages to large scale site responsive outdoor installations that harness air movement and light. Site responsive installation, sculpture, public art and collaborative projects are the focus of her arts practice.
By creating poetic spatial ensembles from textiles, natural and everyday materials installed in gallery, public and natural environments she aims to identify and highlight experiences, places and things that connect, divide and drive us as individuals and collectives. Her work investigates compelling human and environmental narratives and their intersections with people, space and place through their material echo. Fragility, vulnerability, struggle and their counterparts transformation, resilience, sanctuary are the key thematic concerns of her work.
